In Korea started the ski season

This year's ski season in Korea started unusually early. Thanks to the sustainable low temperatures, on 28 October 2010 several ski resorts in the province of Gangwon make their tracks available for skiers.

For South Korea current ski season is the earliest in its history. For the first time in its history the Korean ski slopes could offer skating tours in October. This year the season started a week earlier than in 2009.

South Korea has managed to attract large attention to its ski resorts during the contest to determine the capital of the Olympic Games 2014. Then ski resort Pyeongchang was defeated in a bitter struggle by the Russian Sochi.

South Korea now ranks among the most popular winter holiday destinations in Asia. Almost 70% of the country is mountains. Skiing is very popular in Korea, along with other winter sports: snowboarding and free riding. In addition to Pyeongchang Korea is known in Russia through such resorts as Yong Pyong, Hai Van Land, as well as numerous ski resorts in the vicinity of Seoul.

For Koreans ski tourists from Russia remain among the key visitors. Therefore, within the ski season in this country are often held events designed exclusively for the Russian ski tourists. So, at the Yong Pyong resort for three times have already been successfully conducted winter festivals Ru-Ski, which offers to the guests from Russia not only the slopes of one of the best ski resorts in Korea, but also different competitions, performances of Korean national ensembles and tasting of dishes of Korean cuisine.
